Position: Music & Media Director

Job Description

This role is to support our growing community that aims to promote unity and diversity. The church has five main singing groups: Adult Choir, Praises and Worship Team, Singing Band, Youth Choir, and Children’s Choir. As a Music & Media Director, you will oversee the media and technical aspects of worship services, producing and editing videos, ensuring a stellar online worship broadcast, creating strong still and motion graphics for church communication and managing updates on all digital media platforms.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct the music program at the church by working with the Minister and the ministry team to choose music that is appropriate for services and create a schedule that meets the needs of the church.
  • Oversee sound and media production for Sunday services, Friday prayer meetings, week-long church revivals, festivities (such as Christmas and Easter), funerals, baptism, concerts, conferences, anniversaries, picnics, and all other church programs.
  • Be responsible for stepping in if an instrumentalist is absent, especially
  • Oversee the establishment of a music
  • Planning and coordinating the establishment of the music
  • Establishing a children’s choir and a youth choir
  • Developing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for music and video production
  • Provides musical direction, composition, and production of church
  • Ensures there is appropriate management and timely coordination of music resources including sound engineers, sound technicians, media technicians, instrumentalists, vocalists etc.
  • Provides adequate rehearsals to successfully execute audio/visual production (In-house & Social Mediate) in all church services and events as required.
  • Leads and engages with the media and sound teams, instrumentalists, and all church worship groups including singing band, praises and worship team, youth and children’s choir to ensure the ministry’s vision is brought to fruition.

  • Oversee all music and media related activities listed in the church calendar to ensure smooth execution of audio/visual products in all events and services as
  • Administrative responsibilities including creating a budget for the music program and all procurement relating to the Music and Media department of the church.
  • Coordinating and planning musical concerts
  • Developing music and media programs to engage the
  • Expanding the music and media ministry to include departments such as social media and promotion, website management, visuals and camera Handling, and Production and projection.
  • Annually review and evaluate policies and procedures for operating audio and video equipment, including making necessary improvements

 

Your Expertise:

  • 7 years of related experience
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Collaboration skills
  • Advanced knowledge of current media and music trends an asset
  • Ability to give clear instructions and make decisions under
  • Excellent knowledge of music techniques, theory, and performance is a
  • Strong leadership, time management and multitasking skills 
  • Ability to play an Organ or piano is an
  • Experience singing or choral techniques is an
  • Knowledge of technical stage lighting and light computer programs
  • Knowledge of audio/sound equipment, including operation of sound board and microphones during live services
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems in all technical areas during service, including video, audio or lighting issues

Education:

  • Bachelor of Music or Fine Arts or A degree in video production, graphic design, or related field is preferred

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Hours of work:

  • 20 hours per week
  • Friday 4pm-10pm
  • Saturday 2pm-10pm

Sunday 9am-3pm
