Founded in 1994, the GPCT has seen much growth in its community. We are one of 21 congregations within the Presbytery of West Toronto, and we are made up of 14 committees, servicing the needs of various groups in our church. Job Description

The existing opportunity is a part time position.

Our preferred candidate will be a responsible customer centered individual who speak at least one Ghanaian language (TWI) and whose duties will include the following but not limited to

  • Provide a friendly customer service support to all members and visitors of the church on the phone and in other correspondence.
  • Develop and update the church’s administrative systems to make them more efficient.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Minister in charge.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the clerk of session to facilitate effective and time mannered communication to the congregation or any of the various groups or individuals within the church and the general public.
  • Strictly maintain an acceptable and clean office environment.
  • Adopt and maintain a proper electronic and manual document filing system for the church’s records.
  • Order and keep proper inventory of office supplies as well as other approved purchased equipment items for the church.
  • Effectively work with the Minister and the clerk of Session to ensure a conflict free church calendar and program activity schedule.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mails, emails and other currier services
  • Support the various church groups and group leaders with their on-demand clerical needs such as word processing, printing, photocopies and binding of documents etc.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of college education and or with relevant years of experience.
  • Warm and welcoming personality
  • Strong Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher; knowledge of QuickBooks is an asset.
  • Strong general office administrative skills – which include word processing, email and data entry.
  • General bookkeeping skills – accounts receivable and payable entries; preparation of invoices and receipt for sanctuary rentals.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience with religion, charitable or not for profit organization administration is an asset.


  • 20-30 Hours per week
  • Typically, on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
  • This role requires the incumbent to be on site at the Ghanaian Presbyterian church Toronto

 Salary Range (20-25)
